Remmooz a new Stakes winner for Blue Point

Progressive three-year-old colt lands Dubai Duty Free Cup at Newbury

Blue Point added a new Black Type winner to his impressive record on Friday, 19 September when his three-year-old son Remmooz ran out the determined winner of the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup, run over seven furlongs at Newbury.

Always in touch under Callum Rodriguez, the Owen Burrows-trained colt made his move with two-furlongs left to run and after an intense battle with Volterra (Farhh), eventually prevailed by a head.

This was his fourth career victory, after he won on his racecourse debut at Doncaster this April and followed up with success over the same course and distance in early June. Fourth in the Jersey Stakes next time out, Remmooz’s last victory was over a mile at York in July.

Remmooz was bred by Blue Diamond Stud and is out of the Stakes-winning Ramonti mare Lady Ramon.

He is one of nine Stakes winners this year for Blue Point, also sire of G3 Ballyogan Stakes heroine Sky Majesty (already a G2 winner), while his outstanding multiple G1 winner Rosallion has posted several solid performances including an agonisingly close second in the G1 Prix du Moulin two weeks ago.
