Progressive new Stakes winner for Dubawi

Silent Love lands the Listed Chalice Stakes at Newmarket

Three-year-old filly Silent Love continued her progression and landed her first Stakes race on just her fourth start in the mile-and-a-half Listed Chalice Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday, 2 August.

Prominent early under Billy Loughnane, Silent Love briefly lost ground on the inside rail before rallying to take the lead with half a furlong to run. She went on to win going away by half a length.

A Godolphin homebred, the Charlie Appleby-trained filly is the second foal out of Stakes-winning mare Hadith (New Approach), who herself is a half-sister to German Listed winner Discursus (Dubawi) and UAE G3 winner Blown By Wind.

Dubawi has now sired no fewer than 20 individual Black Type winners this year, including G1 Eclipse winner Delacroix, G1 Lockinge winner Lead Artist, and G1 Al Maktoum Challenge winner Walk Of Stars. His brilliant son Rebel’s Romance ran another excellent race in the G1 King George last month, following on from his Royal Ascot victory in the Hardwicke Stakes.
