New G1 winner for Too Darn Hot

Tornado Alert wins the G1 Bayerisches Zuchtrennen at Munich

Too Darn Hot’s stellar weekend continued as three-year-old colt Tornado Alert won the G1 Bayerisches Zuchtrennen in impressive fashion at Munich on Sunday, 27 July.

Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, Tornado Alert was placed handily throughout the 2000m contest and kicked clear in the home straight under Oisin Murphy, going on to win by two and a half lengths.

A Godolphin homebred, Tornado Alert is out of Kingmambo mare Bint Almatar, making him a half-brother to Australian G1 winner Just Fine.

Too Darn Hot has now registered four winners at the highest level, with Classic winner Fallen Angel and G1-winning juvenile Hotazhell his other European G1 winners, and Broadsiding – a four-time G1 winner in Australia. The sire has enjoyed a brilliant weekend with three new Stakes winners. Juvenile filly Fitzella became Too Darn Hot’s second winner of the G3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot, and just an hour later, three-year-old colt Emit landed the Listed Marble City at Gowran Park.
