Mr Seagull, a first-crop son of Space Blues, made a winning debut over six furlongs at Pontefract. Trained by Hugo Palmer and a €95,000 Goffs Orby yearling purchase, he just prevailed by a nose after a protracted duel with the favourite Delinquent.
Bred by Ballylinch Stud, Mr Seagull is out of Bayja, who has already produced five winners including G3-winner New Providence and the Group-placed Ekhtiyaar.
Space Blues has now sired ten individual winners including Power Blue, who won the G1 Phoenix Stakes last weekend at the Curragh. He is also the sire of the three-time G2-placed Do Or Do Not, Listed-placed Polly Shelby and the impressive maiden winner Stellar Sunrise.
