G2 victory for daughter of Night Of Thunder

Estrange wins the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock Park

Estrange, a progressive four-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder, continued her climb up the ranks when landing the G2 Lancashire Oaks. In a messy four-runner race, she wasn’t at her best but still managed a neck victory over Scenic with eight-and-a-half lengths back to the third.

The winner of four of her five starts, she now heads to the G1 Yorkshire Oaks next month, and also holds an entry in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Bred by Anthony Stroud, Trevor Stewart and James Hanly, she was a 425,000gns yearling purchase by Cheveley Park Stud and is a half-sister to Stakes performers Basalt (Pinatubo) and Lmay

Night Of Thunder leads all other stallions in GB and IRE by prize money this season. His 17 Stakes winners are headed by Royal Ascot hero Ombudsman, narrowly denied by Delacroix (Dubawi) in the Eclipse, and 1,000 Guineas heroine Desert Flower.
