Fifth G1 victory for Fallen Angel

Daughter of Too Darn Hot lands the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket

Fallen Angel, Too Darn Hot’s brilliant first-crop daughter, landed her fifth G1 in impressive style on Saturday, 4 October in the Sun Chariot Stakes. Run over Newmarket’s straight mile, she was never out of the front rank, and running on superbly defied Blue Bolt (Blue Point) by two-and-a-quarter lengths, with over four lengths back to G1 winner Cinderella’s Dream (Shamardal) in third.

From only 13 career starts, Fallen Angel has won the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes as a juvenile, the G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas at three, and has completed a quick-fire G1 treble since August after the Prix Rothschild and Matron Stakes.

Bred by Branton Court Stud, Fallen Angel is a daughter of Agnes Stewart, the winner of the G2 May Hill Stakes as a juvenile.

Too Darn Hot has sired 28 global Black Type winners including four that have struck at G1 level after Hotazhell, Tornado Alert and Broadsiding. Earlier in the day, his juvenile daughter Shiki won the G3 Gimcrack Stakes on her career debut at Randwick in Australia.
