Dynamic Pricing came with a furious rally to split rivals nearing the wire to claim a one-length victory in the Listed Perfect Sting Stakes at Saratoga on Friday, 29 Aug.
The victory improved the four-year-old Night Of Thunder filly’s record to five wins, and four third-place finishes in 11 career starts. Four of those victories have been in Stakes races, with the jewel being her win in the G1 Just a Game Stakes over the same course in early June.
Ridden once again by jockey Dylan Davis, Dynamic Pricing broke a bit awkwardly at the start and was settled near the rear of the eight-runner field as longshot New Rome went to the front to set the pace. Tracking her closely from second was Raqiya (Blue Point), with Vino Rouge racing in third.
Dynamic Pricing was tipped out into the two-path with five-sixteenths of a mile to run, then was carried three-wide through the far turn to the top of the homestretch. Set down for the drive at the head of the lane, Dynamic Pricing angled toward the inside rail, splitting between rivals before charging past Raqiya and Proctor Street (Street Sense) nearing the wire to get the victory.
Raqiya nosed out Proctor Street for the runner-up spot, with the first three finishers all sired by Darley stallions.
Bred in Ireland by Epona Bloodstock, Dynamic Pricing is out of Shemda, a winning daughter of Dutch Art. Shemda is a half-sister to multiple Graded Stakes winner Shamida (Australia) and to Stakes-placed Shajak (Zarak).
Night Of Thunder is enjoying an incredible year with 24 individual Stakes winners. He currently leads the UK/IRE Sires’ Championship by just under £1 million following a brilliant victory by his four-year-old colt Ombudsman in the G1 Juddmonte International.
